  What a nice little list of tips for winning at Texas Holdem. The game is clearly more complicated that it looks. My first few online games really showed me that I needed to learn a better way to play. Thankfully I was playing at a low-limit table. Well, I think Im ready to give it another go.

If you want to be a good Poker player, you must develop patience. In a game with ten players, an experienced Poker player will fold four out of five games. A poor player is one who wants to play through every hand. In poker, the position a player has relative to the dealer is vitally important. The earlier you are forced to take an action, the less information you have concerning the manner in which the other players play their cards. You must be especially careful about playing weak hands when you're in an early position. Don't try anything too tricky if you're a beginner playing a low limit game. You shouldn't try bluffing people you don't know when you aren't holding anything. You might try to semi-bluff is you have a hand of debatable value, in order to keep people guessing by varying your play. Study your adversaries. The most important trait to identify is which players play tight and which play loose. The easiest way to make money playing poker is to play against players who constantly play hands that are too weak. A key indicator is a count of how frequently a player remains in the game to the final card.
