  Hi folks, just want to tell you that playing poker online is so exciting! I tried the free games at first to be safe, but now that I am pro I do some betting and I've won several times! It felt so good. Thank you very much for the info.

Poker is played in one form or another all over the world, but it's most popular in America, because that's where it all started. In America, it's played at home and at special poker clubs, as well as in casinos, especially the nation's top casinos. The new thing is to play online, and nowadays it's even possible to play for free online. We say that poker is America's national card game; you'll notice that its argot runs throughout our culture. There are more variations of the game than you can count, but there are some general features common to all of them. There are five cards in a hand of poker. The hand's strength is measured by the probability of achieving specific combinations of cards. The more unlikely the cards that make up the hand, the more value it has. So, for example, the odds of drawing a pair is 1 in 2.36, while the odds for getting a royal flush are 1 in 649,740.00, hence a royal flush is a better hand than a pair. All poker rules are based on a simple precept, that every player has the option to bet that his hand is better than all the others. Then, of course, the other people playing can call the bet, which means to match it, or they can fold, which is to leave the current hand. There's also the act of bluffing, which is when the player bets as though he has the best hand when he actually doesn't. By doing so, he may be able to push other players with better hands out of the game if they're unwilling to call his bet, in which case he ends up winning. This is one of the fundamentals of poker strategy.
