Strategy

The following strategies are designed to help you win at Omaha Hi/Lo. Please note that these strategies are also effective for on-line Omaha Hi/Lo. Basic Strategy: The high hand winner has to split the pot with the holder of the best low hand in Omaha High-Low. The game has a high hand winner every time, but there isn't always a low hand winner. For a hand to qualify as low, it must have 5 number cards, none of which are higher than an 8. Any 2 of your 4 hole cards will be played for a high hand, and any two can be played for a low hand. Players are required to play precisely two of their hole cards for each sort of hand. Aces can be both low and high. A low hand isn't disqualified by flushes and straights, so a hand of 5, 4, 3, 2 and an Ace would be an unbeatable low hand and would also be a 5 high straight for a possible winning high hand.
