Me and my wife play stud poker a lot and we both agree that knowing when to bet and when to fold is one of the most important tips in the game. I know it's very difficult to make good decisions, but sometimes a step back saves a lot of trouble.
I play stud poker online and it is mainly for fun. I like that it has low stakes and I try to use the tips written above. It's strange, but they work!

If you don't see any of these reasons to fold, then you should stay in and play fast. Observe your competitors. Are they playing more hands than they're folding? Do they tend to bluff? Is it possible to bluff them? What mannerisms do they have which reveal information about the cards they hold? Every once in a while, you should see to it that you're caught trying to bluff. This is in order to reduce the predictability of your actions. When your bluff works, you take pots that you wouldn't have normally won. When you get caught, you'll be down a few chips, but later when you have a strong hand, your history of bluffing will get you some much needed calls.
